Charitable donations help BDACI to maintain its independence and to provide a range of activities and supports to help people with intellectual disabilities and their families that are not funded by the government.Your donation can be directed in one of the following ways:
- General Association: Donations provide direct assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families within the Leeds & Grenville.
- Legacy Fund: Donations provide a source of non-governmental funds that could be used to create, support, and sustain an action strategy that are creative alternatives to the existing segregating and congregating options.
- Brockville Community Foundation: Community Involvement Legacy Endowment Fund. The BDACI endowment fund was established so families of people with disabilities could have a place to leave a permanent legacy. Earnings from the fund will go to support the efforts of BDACI to continue to provide for a safe, secure, and positive future for people with disabilities. Interested in working for a BDACI Family?
Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement understands the relationship between a supported individual and their support worker is a personal relationship best overseen by the family and supported individual, not an outside agency. When families have the opportunity to hire their employees themselves, they are empowered to guide and oversee the support provided to their loved one.
How Does BDACI assist Families Who Manage Their Own Supports?
BDACI will assist families as requested with the recruitment process., Families will then conduct their own interviews, with support from BDACI facilitators if desired. As well, facilitators are available to coach and guide contract workers to ensure the support reflects the goals and interests of the supported individual.
For families that are interested training and learning opportunities will be offered throughout the year for contract worker to develop their skills.
